Missy Hancock, Dental Assistant
Missy received her training as a Dental Assistant at Tulsa Vocational Technical School. She’s been working in the dental field over 20 years and has been a part of Dr. Canady’s team almost 10 years. During that time she has pursued advanced dental training and education at The Pankey Institute, the Dawson Academy, Schuster Center, and Spear Education at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry. She has also taught Dental Assisting for over eight years.
In her role at Canady Dental, she is responsible for assisting Dr. Canady during patient treatment. She enjoys helping Dr. Canady transform the appearances and lives of their patients. “Canady Dental is unique because of the excellent care we give our patients,” says Missy.
Missy and her husband have four cats and two dogs. She enjoys antiquing on the weekends, cooking new dishes and crafts.
Carrie J. Tipton, Office Coordinator
Carrie received her education at the Tulsa Technology Center and has spent much of her professional career in sales and marketing. In her role as Office Coordinator, Carrie is responsible for the entire front office, including sales and marketing, patient accounting, scheduling and more. Carrie enjoys working at Canady Dental because she loves being surrounded by an awesome team that shares a common value: that patients are priority number one. “Everyone in this practice does their best to accommodate each patient’s unique needs and goals,” she says. “We see each patient as an individual and treat them as such.”
Carrie is married with three sons, one stepson and one stepdaughter. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, floral and interior design, baking and cooking.
Matt Canady, Lab Technician/Lab Assistant
Matt has received training and education from The Pankey Institute, Spear Education at The Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and Dawson Academy. He has been working in the dental field over 2 years. In his role with Canady Dental, Matt is responsible for checking and preparing lab cases. Matt loves his job, especially the relaxed, family-like atmosphere at the practice. “I love what I do,” says Matt. “I take pride in the quality of my work. It gives me a sense of accomplishment at the end of each day.” But more importantly, Matt takes pride in the way the practice treats its patients. “Everyone in this practice genuinely cares for one another, as well as the patients,” he says. “It’s not a dollar amount that motivates this practice; it is the end result of a patient’s case and the bond we form with each individual.”
LeeAnn Peterson, Registered Dental Hygienist
LeeAnn graduated from Wichita State University and has received advanced dental training from Dawson Academy and Spears Education at The Scottsdale Center for Dentistry. She’s been a Registered Dental Hygienist over 25 years and has been working with Dr. Canady over 20 years.
As Canady Dental’s dental hygienist, LeeAnn provides dental treatments to patients in the hygiene department, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, periodontal treatment, laser therapy, x-rays and more. “I love meeting and treating the many fascinating patients I meet everyday,” says LeeAnn. “Everyone is unique, as are their dental health needs. I love making a difference in patient’s dental health.” LeeAnn also takes a great deal of pride in providing new technology and services to the patients of Canady Dental. “I continue to grow by attending multiple continuing education courses to learn new information and skills,” says LeeAnn.
LeeAnn and her husband, Russell, have three daughters. They enjoy camping and the outdoors. She is a huge OSU fan “Go Pokes!”
Johna Riley, Registered Dental Hygienist
Johna is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist almost 20 years and has been a part of Dr. Canady’s team over 10 years.
Her responsibilities include attending continuing education courses to further her knowledge in dentistry. She then brings the information back to the patients and educates them on how to keep their mouths healthy.
“I love getting to know patients on a personal level and becoming their friend,” says Johna. “I enjoy hearing about each patient’s life and family as well as sharing stories about mine.”
“Dr. Canady’s dentistry is EXCELLENT! There are not a lot of dentists who take a lot of pride in their work like he does,” she says. “From start to finish he will always deliver the greatest of care.”
Johna has been married almost 15 years and has three children. Along with all the kids involved in sports, she and her husband also run a cattle business. She loves to work out and scrapbook in her spare time. Her life is extremely busy but she enjoys all the craziness that goes with it.
Debra Canady, Office Assistant
Debra Canady, Dr. Canady’s wife, teaches 4th grade math at Metro Christian Academy where all their children attended school. While not “technically” on the team full-time, whenever there’s a need, Debra jumps in and helps out.
